Healthy Sunday Morning Vanilla Cinnamon Frappucino

¡Buenos días amigos! Good morning friends! Just waking up after a great, long night’s sleep and having a my morning coffee on my patio while I wait for my husband to wake up. This is what we call “daddy’s/mommy’s day off”– usually one of us claims Sunday as “our” day and gets to sleep in and be lazy for the first half of the day while the other tends to the baby. It’s the one real morning break we both share throughout the week and we both clamour to call it like siblings scream for “SHOTGUN!!!” Obviously I lost this week 😦 lol

Anywho… I’m enjoying another of my Javita creations this morning. This time I chose the energy coffee with Gotu Kola and Baccopa Monnieri instead of the weight-loss coffee because I wanted to compare the taste of the two. In truth, I think they taste very similar but to me, the weight-loss coffee actually tastes to me like a mix between coffee and green tea in one. Strangely, the one I’m drinking now (energy) DOES have green tea in it as well, but I can’t taste it. Apparently I taste it in the one that doesn’t 🙂

So I wanted to try to recreate a frozen “Frappucino” version of the coffee I used to drink everyday, which is called “San Antonio” which is a HEB-brand K-Cup flavor that is cinnamon, vanilla, and chocolate flavored. It’s delicious and very much like café de canela Mexicana or Mexican cinnamon coffee. (In case you’re diabetic like me and didn’t already know, cinnamon is a natural blood sugar controller.) And instead of hot, today I wanted to try it cold and blended. And boy is it delicious! And nutritious as well 😛

Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 packet Javita Energy+Mind Coffee
  • 4 oz both water and milk
  • A teaspoon of half and half
  • A scoop of chocolate protein powder
  • 3 drops of vanilla extract
  • A dash of cinnamon (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon cold-pressed coconut oil
  • 4 cubes of ice

This little guy outta pack enough punch to keep me energized throughout the morning while we finish building our fence FINALLY!
