Here it is! The first official Saturday of summer break 🙂 I’ve been looking forward to this day for quite some time– I’ve been substitute teaching all grade levels here in Victoria Independent School District and sometimes I think being a sub is harder than being an actual teacher! You have to establish respect for yourself very early on EVERY SINGLE DAY. It’s not too difficult a task, it’s just exhausting day in, day out. Luckily if I end up taking a permanent teaching position next semester, I won’t have to bend over backwards every day to accommodate every school in the district when they’re short-staffed.
It looks like I’ll be starting a new job on Tuesday; I came across an advertising executive position with the local newspaper, the Victoria Advocate, and applied on a whim for a summer job and was hired pretty much on the spot. Unfortunately it took me a few extra days to send them back a filled-out employment application and to recreate my references list, which has somehow mysteriously disappeared off my husband’s computer… Surprise surprise 😉
I’m hoping the day will stay as glorious as it currently is so I can take my son swimming later! 82 degrees, partly cloudy with a 0% chance of rain. Not too shabby, Victoria!
Whatever you’re doing today, I hope you have a fantastic one!
